Eisenberger-Meister-Orthodontics

Jersey City is one of the most dynamic and densely populated cities in New Jersey — home to families, young professionals, and longtime residents who all deserve access to quality orthodontic care without having to travel far. Whether you live in Downtown Jersey City, Journal Square, The Heights, or Greenville, Eisenberger and Meister Orthodontics is a straightforward trip: our Passaic office is approximately 30–40 minutes via the NJ Turnpike or Route 1/9, and patients from Hudson County make that drive regularly for a level of specialty care that simply is not available at every local office.

Eisenberger and Meister Orthodontics welcomes Jersey City patients to our Passaic office, where our team brings a combined 38 years of experience to every case. We take an individualized approach to orthodontic care, building treatment plans that reflect the unique needs, goals, and schedules of each patient we see. Whether you are an adult who has been thinking about treatment for years or a parent looking for the right fit for your child, our full range of orthodontic services is designed to meet you where you are.

How Properly Aligned Teeth Protect Your Health Long Term

Most patients come to us focused on aesthetics — and that is completely understandable. A straighter smile changes the way you look and the way you feel about yourself. But the health case for orthodontic treatment is equally compelling, and it is something we discuss with every patient from the very first consultation.

Research published through the National Institutes of Health examined orthodontic treatment in periodontally compromised patients and found that properly aligned teeth support healthier periodontal conditions, including reduced probing depths and improved bone levels, when treatment is carefully planned and timed. In other words, straightening your teeth does not just improve how they look — when done right, it can actively support the health of the gums and bone that hold your teeth in place. This is the level of thinking our team applies to every treatment plan we develop.

Treatment Options at Eisenberger and Meister Orthodontics

Jersey City patients have access to the full range of modern orthodontic treatments at our practice. We take the time to match each patient with the approach that suits both their clinical needs and their daily life.

Braces

Braces remain the most time-proven method for correcting bite and alignment issues of varying complexity. Fixed appliances give our team precise control over tooth movement, making them especially well suited for patients whose cases involve more involved bite relationships or significant crowding. We use modern brackets and wires to keep the process as comfortable and efficient as possible.

LightForce 3D-printed braces

We offer LightForce — custom 3D-printed brackets engineered specifically to each patient’s tooth anatomy. Unlike conventional braces manufactured to standard sizes, LightForce brackets are fabricated to fit your teeth exactly, which means more precise tooth movement, fewer chair visits, and faster overall treatment times. Very few practices in Hudson County or the greater New Jersey metro area offer LightForce, making Eisenberger and Meister Orthodontics one of the only options for patients who want this level of customization.

Invisalign

Invisalign is one of the most popular treatment options among our adult patients and older teens. Custom-made removable trays shift teeth gradually into alignment while remaining virtually invisible during wear. For patients with active professional and social lives in a city like Jersey City, the discretion and flexibility of Invisalign is often a significant draw. We assess every prospective Invisalign case carefully to confirm it is clinically appropriate before moving forward.

Clear braces

For patients who want the reliability of a fixed appliance but prefer a less noticeable look, clear braces are a strong option. Designed to blend with the natural color of teeth, they deliver the consistent precision of traditional orthodontics with a more subtle appearance. They are particularly popular with teens and adults who are committed to fixed treatment but conscious of how they look during the process.

Retainers

Retainers are an essential and often underappreciated part of orthodontic care. Once active treatment concludes, retainers preserve the results and prevent teeth from gradually drifting back toward their original positions. Our team takes retention seriously and provides clear, personalized guidance on how to protect your investment in your smile for the long term.

A Practice Built for Patients of All Ages

One of the things that sets Eisenberger and Meister Orthodontics apart is the breadth of care we provide across age groups. We see patients at every stage of life, and we tailor the experience to fit wherever each person is in that journey.

For younger children, early orthodontic treatment gives our team the ability to identify and address developing bite and jaw concerns while growth is still actively in our favor. A child who receives a timely intervention may avoid a significantly more involved treatment course later. For teenagers, our treatment approach accounts for the social and practical realities of adolescence. For adults, we recognize that starting treatment later in life comes with its own set of questions and priorities, and we address all of them directly.

We also consider the connection between orthodontic alignment and airway function. The relationship between bite development, jaw position, and breathing is one our team takes seriously, and we incorporate airway orthodontic principles into our clinical thinking, particularly when treating younger patients whose jaws are still developing.

For Jersey City and Hudson County patients, the drive to our Passaic office is a straightforward one — and for many of our patients, it is a decision rooted in the difference between general dental care and board-certified orthodontic specialty care. Dr. Matthew Meister completed a full specialty residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at NYU College of Dentistry, training that goes significantly beyond what is required to offer orthodontic services at a general dental practice. That distinction matters in both diagnosis and outcomes, particularly for complex cases involving bite correction, jaw development, or cases where airway function is part of the clinical picture.
